Ultro represents the pinnacle of design for track and fixed gear racing from Aventon. A pure-bred race machine for the velodrome or fixed gear crit scene. We chose to build it in carbon fiber for the best possible performance – lightweight, strong and stiff, with premium materials: Toray T700.
When we set out to build the Ultro, we went straight to the source – designer James Trimble. Trimble has been building carbon fiber bicycle frames since the early 90’s. Bikes run in the Trimble family (you may have heard of David, who started the Red Hook Crit, and Brent, founder of Kestrel Bikes.) Trimble designed performance and convenience features that represent the very best race bike we can produce. These include a tapered head tube for stiffness when you unleash your sprint, built-in chain tensioners for easy adjustments when changing gear ratios, and a massive, aero wing-shaped carbon fiber seatpost. The frame features an integrated, hidden aero seatpost binder for a super clean look.
In keeping with the racing ethos, Ultro is designed for brakeless riding on the velodrome and is not drilled for front or rear brakes. Ultro is offered as a frameset so that you can build it up just the way you like. The Ultro frameset package includes frame, fork, headset, and aero seatpost.
